This is the most recent picture, taken 1-09-05, with Petunia in the foreground with her best friends (from front to back) Dinky, Chance and Padmaie. She now spends her days in the sanctuary yard (5 acres) with the main flock. These four insist on sleeping in the holding pen but will mingle with the other 23 ducks and 4 geese during the day. They will have to be taught to sleep in the community pen before spring and new rescues begin to arrive.

Ducks are very social animals and have very little, if any, trouble accepting new members into a flock.
